The Upper East Regional Police Command has retrieved firearms ammunition from two houses and arrested six suspects at Kandiga in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality in a special cordon and search operation.

The Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba who briefed Journalists yesterday in Bolgatanga on the operation emphasize that the said items were retrieved from houses in two different locations.

He said six out of the suspects were arrested and brought to the Regional Criminal investigation department office for further investigations. 

Dr Sayibu Pabi further indicated that the owners of those houses which the ammunition and some pump action guns were retrieved are currently at large.

The Police intelligence shows that the owners of the items are teachers and the police traced to their various schools and currently trying everything possible to make sure they are arrested. 

Dr Sayibu Pabi encouraged residents in the region to be law-abiding citizens by desisting from any practice that will violate the law of Ghana.

He advises the public to report any criminal activities in their communities.
