Ugandan general apologises for Kenya invasion tweets

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba of Uganda has apologized to Kenyan President William Ruto for tweeting threats to invade and seize the neighboring nation's capital within two weeks.

Kenyans were incensed by Gen Kainerugaba's statements, which led his father, President Yoweri Museveni, to apologize to Kenya.

The general stated he had never had a quarrel with President Ruto in his apology on Thursday night.

"If I made a mistake anyplace," he said, "please forgive me as his younger brother."

Long accused of preparing his 48-year-old son to take over when he inevitably steps down, Mr. Museveni has consistently refuted the accusation.
