Trouble looms as chief declares "No Vote For Ada East and West parliamentary election"

Parliamentary candidates for both the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) will have tough battle in convincing the people of Ada East and West for votes in the forthcoming elections.

This is because the residents think they only provide livelihood to people who do not have their livelihood at heart.

This,the chief of Aminapah, Nene Amatey Korkey Adegu explained that the ongoing tussle regarding the Ada Songor Lagoon Basin is a testament of the claim by the Ada Songor Lagoon Association(ASLA) therefore demanding harsh measures to end it.

The Aminapah traditional ruler noted that the ensuing tussle within both the Ada East and West constituencies over the Songor Lagoon Basin coupled with unwarranted brutalities and intentional killing of active-able bodied men and women cannot is a disincentive for voting adding, "they should vote for themselves to win the elections".

"What is our crime? Just because we want to work and avoid idleness as the devil finds work for the idle hand but we refuse to idle around", he angrily disclosed.

The chief, in an address to his subjects at a press briefing served notice that the two constituencies will be without representations in parliament from 2025 as they do not see a worthy person to protect their interest hence they will not queue to vote in the December 2024.

The move, he noted will be necessary until they get individuals who will be ready to prevent the ongoing deprivation of his people.

Nene Amatey Korkey Adegu indicated that they cannot afford to queue to vote for people who will team up with government to snatch their ancestral livelihood from with heartless forces thereby making them miserable.

The Chief stressed warning politicians not to try and come to campaign or expect votes from the very troubled constituencies.

"You cannot make our constituencies poor by selling our livelihood to a foreigner and anticipate that we sit aloof and do nothing, no we will protect our livelihood with even the last drop of our blood with the help of our ancestors and stool",he declares.

According to the chief,voting for greedy individuals who will later support hoodlums to unleash terror and beat them to pulp while killing those whose blood they are thirsty for will be the worst mistake they would ever do.

The aggrieved chief served the stern notice indicating that they know that the constituencies are orphans therefore are prepared to take their destinies into their own hands.

"We are prepared to fight until we win",he said amidst loud cheers of the gathering.

His anger stemmed from what he termed "intentional and unreasonable killing of his people just because they have decided to engage in their own economic activity and not depending on government who is finding it difficult to fix the economy let alone creating jobs.

By way of prove, the chief detailed the number of the people who have suffered various degrees of harm, incapacitation and death as a result of unwarranted attacks from hoodlums believed to be employed by McDan with the support of the government and their Members of Parliament.

According to him, "On the 5th February ,2021, a team of armed police officers together with land guards including a well-known notorious land guard, Alhassan invaded Salom community, shot and inflicted cutlass wounds on several community members.

At the end, 14 people were seriously injured, and  9 more were arrested at the Sege Police station to be severely brutalized. On this day, one Nomo Sebbie now late, was shot and suffered from bullet wounds till death", he decried.

"On the 14th June 2021 at 11:00 pm, he recounted that police personnel from the Ada Division invaded the communities at midnight, forcibly broke into rooms, and with their usual Rambo-like style arrested community members including Evans Korley, Joshua Korley, and Peter Alihanor Korley, all of whom are from Midea, Numo Alhaji Abraham Kuku Ayornu-Korle Apertey Wornor from Kasseh and Godwin Ayornu from Lufenya, on the 24th June 2021, the police in the Sege area in conjunction with the rented land guards of the suppose investor again in their Rambo-style arrested a native of the Dzinameh Alimo in a midnight operation at Toflokpo within the Sege constituency and badly treated him.

"All of these and more are the reason we do not see it as prudent to go and vote for any wicked and careless individuals", he concluded.
