Tijjaniya Muslim Council prays for peace in Bawku

The leadership of the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana under the supervision of its Supreme Leader, Sheikh Khalifa Ahmed Abulfaid Maikano has organized a Quran recitation to pray for peace to prevail in the Bawku chieftaincy setup.

Since November 2021, the Bawku Municipality has been unstable due to several sporadic shootings and killings of innocent souls following the chieftaincy feud between the Mamprusis and the Kusasis.

Since then, the government has deployed heavy security personnel to the area as part of measures to maintain law and order.

The Tijaniyya Muslim Council as a religious and Spiritual organization, therefore, deemed it necessary to intervene with a prayer to support the government’s effort in ensuring peace in Bawku.

Khalifa Sheikh Ahmed Abulfaid led hundreds of Tijaniyya faithfuls to recite the holy Quran for Allah almighty to bring everlasting peace to Bawku and its environs.

He appealed to Ghanaians and other religious sects to join hands in prayer for the people of Bawku in the Upper East Region.

The event occurred during the 40-day funeral rites (Adua) of the late National Chairman of the Tijjaniya Council, Sheikh Imam Tahir Saeed at Bolgatanga, the capital of the region.
