Tension is brewing in the Prestea Goldfields International School of  Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal in the Western Region after aggrieved Paa Kwaw together with his thugs stormed the premises of the School near Najaba to wound an upper lower class teacher, Mr Emmanuel Kyei.

According to the Headmaster of the school, Mr Solomon Asare, the misunderstanding stemmed from the fact the teacher allegedly canned a Junior High School Form Two student in the school, Master Caleb Baah Jurah for not participating in the school labour work which was organised on Friday, April 30, 2021, to prevent erosion in the school.

Mr Paa Kwaw and his thugs, Mr Asare disclosed took such a decision to attack the teacher because he [Paa Kwaw] claimed that Master Caleb Baah Jurah, who is the son of Mr Baah Jurah was his relative.

He noted that after that the student went to his father's house near the school to inform his relative, who rushed to the school and after furiously exchanging words with the teacher, matters worsened when Paa Kwaw allegedly slapped the teacher.

In self-defence, the teacher gave Paa Kwaw some lashes and he reported the matter to his thugs who, within five minutes, stormed the school fully armed and attacked the teacher with severe beatings in the full glare of some students and teachers of the school.

They wounded the teacher with the knife and machetes.

The incident caused growing tension and unrest among some staff members and students, who nearly retaliated at a point.

The incident did not go down with the Assembly Member of Anfegya-Nakaba Electoral Area in Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality, Shuaib Dimbie.

He pointed out that the slapping of the teacher of the school amounted to the three physical attacks meted by parents to the three teachers in the school.

The second incident, according to him, occurred when a parent of the student caught off the left side ear of a teacher and since the case was reported to the police, nothing has been done to the perpetrators.

The headmaster is calling on the government and philanthropists to come to their aid by way of building a fence wall to improve the security of the school.
