Later on Wednesday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres will meet with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and other officials in Abuja, the country's capital.

Mr. Guterres went on a field tour in Borno state, in north-eastern Nigeria, where he spoke with UN agencies and humanitarian organizations that have been assisting hundreds of families fleeing attacks by Islamist terrorists.

According to the United Nations, Islamist terrorists have forced more than two million people to evacuate their homes in north-eastern Nigeria.
