The Police have increasingly shown disrespect to Dagbon Chiefs - Mahama Shaibu

The founder of Ya-Naa Memorial Lectures and veteran Journalist, Mr. Mahama Shaibu says the police administration in the Northern Region has increasingly shown disrespect to chiefs in Dagbon.

According to him, the incidents that keep happening at the palaces justify the police's gross disrespect towards the traditional rulers in the north.

Speaking in connection with the police shooting at the Lamashegu Naa palace, he said such occurrence is becoming quite too many and that the youth of the Metropolis will not take lightly anymore.

Mr. Shaibu tasked the state authority not to use transfer as a punishment for the police officer, but he should be punished according to the law to serve as a warning to others.

He made this statement when he paid a courtesy call on the chief and the people of Lamashegu.

An elder at the Lamashegu Naa palace, Saha Naa bemoaned over the situation, stating that the shooting was too early.
