The New Patriotic Party chairman for Tafo Pankrono constituency, Moses Donkor has refuted claims that the late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John was branded by the use of abusive political words on opponents.

According to him, the NPP does not associate with people who verbally abuse civilians through partisan means, therefore, establishing the former General Secretary of the party in that position is unreasonable. The chairman reacted to a question that tagged the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the late Sir John as upsetting leaders of the two main political parties in Ghana.

“Everyone has his own way of dealing with political response. The fact that you disagree with someone politically does not make him your enemy. To accuse or castigate such is not good advice, he said.

“It’s like football, we have attackers and defenders making sure that the team secures a win. The style of play of a defender does not mean he is abusing the game. We are all after good governance for this country,” he added.

Chairman Moses Donkor spoke on the impact of the late Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Forestry Commission and how his death is a big blow to the incumbent New Patriotic Party.

“We have been hit by the death of Sir John. One arm of the Tafo Pankrono Constituency of the New Patriotic Party has been separated and we wish we could plead to death to revive Sir John.”
