The intriguing cause for iOna Reine's marriage at the age of 22

Every adult female's dream is to walk down the aisle with 'Mr. Right' and begin a lifetime of companionship, but that was not to be for Ghanaian artist iOna Reine.

The singer, who married at the age of 22, revealed that the sole purpose of her marriage was to keep her from "eating around."

She was sexually active at the time and didn't want to be used any further, so she accepted a marriage proposal from her then 23-year-old partner, whom she thought was her'spec'.

iOna stated that she did not give the proposition much attention because she was following society's established structure for adult females.

"I had finished nursing school at the time, and I simply felt that after school, I was working, so what was my next marriage?" I'd have been tattered if I'd just sat down, and you'd just be munching around, which I didn't enjoy. So that's one of the reasons I got married so young."

Her marriage dissolved after five years owing to immaturity and miscommunication, as she said.

The singer of Could This Be Love has concluded that the optimum time to marry is after 30.

She told Zionfelix in an interview that she has come to recognize that the marriage was a horrible mistake, while she is grateful for the children she had during that time.

She is not looking for a husband, but she would want to have additional children with a good man.
