Luis Suarez says players of FC Barcelona have nothing to justify for letting the La Liga title slip after the coronavirus break.

The Blaugrana led the Spanish League by a point but managed to accumulate 21 out of the possible 27 points.

Their three-game draw gave Los Blancos the edge to overcome the former champions and a win against Villarreal on Thursday, July 15, 2020, will crown Real Madrid as champions of Spain.

The Uruguayan believes it is over and focus is needed if the club wants to appease fans with the Champions League trophy.

"We have to be critical of ourselves," Suarez told Mundo Deportivo.

"We let it [the title] escape us.

"We're aware that that's on us and we're not looking for any excuses.

"Now, for the pride of Barcelona, we have to win the two games that are left and then focus on the Champions League, which we can fight for.

"If we play to the level we can, we can take on anyone, but failing in one game can be costly, so we have to be vigilant."

Barca will play Napoli in the return leg of the Champions League on August 8 following a 1-1 draw in Italy. The former Liverpool attacker spoke that if players are determined to conquer Europe when the season resumes, it can be done.

"When we have to fight for important things, like the Champions League, we have to do what we did against Villarreal," Suarez added.

"If we're at 150 percent, we can do it.

"The game against Villarreal was a message. If we want to do it, we can do it."
