Stop Politicizing One-District -One -Factory Projects -McDan Urges Ghanaian Politicians
Dr. Daniel Mchkorley
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel Mchkorley, has offered advises to the various politicians of the political parties in the country to, immediately stop their continuous habits of politicizing issues of One-District-One Factory (1D1F) projects.

Rather, a seasoned and prosperous business magnate stressed the need for the politicians to embrace the 1D1F initiatives to accelerate industrialisation in the country.
He pointed out that Ghanaians should understand that the government remains committed to helping and supporting indigenous industries and also invest in Ghanaians who have business plans and will be able to set up and employ Ghanaians.

Speaking on Joy News Super Morning drive, Dr Mchkorley minced no words when he entreated Ghanaians not to politicize the efforts of the 1D1F initiatives.
“We don’t have to play politics with 1D1F initiatives because this is what will create jobs for the ordinary man on the street. This is a business model that can make you fall in some areas. The one District One Factory is one of the best thing to ever happen to this country.
"I really supported it and still supporting it. There is too much hope in the 1D1F and we dont have to joke with it”, McDan emphasized.
He gave praise to the 1D1F initiative, which according to him, has the potential to transform Ghana’s economy, calling it the innovative Idea that has ever happened in the country.
The Minister of Trade and Industrial, Mr John Kwadzo Alan Kyerematen and his team of officials focused on the One District One Factory Project as a hallmark programme from the government New Patriotic Party (NPP) as part of the Industrialization drive under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Thousands of direct and indirect employment were established throughout advantageous regions as a result of the initiative, which has subsequently produced over 100 working enterprises.
Dr. Daniel Mchkorley, a seasoned and prosperous business magnate operating in Africa, did not hold back in praising the policy’s valuable character.
The One District One Factory is a collaboration between Ghana government and the private sector that has seen many new factories set up or old and defunct factories revived.
The policy has seen many Automobile factories, rice processing, juice processing and other domestic sectors revived through collaboration of government and private sector.
“What we lack here is job creation and one of the requirements from IMF is that the government can’t employ. This is the time the Private sector can set in to employ people,” McDan emphasized.
On the workability of the initiative, the sucesful business man urged government to put a monitoring team in place to guide the activities of the 1D1F initiative.
“I thought government was going to setup a monitoring and evaluation team to look after 1D1F. They were to look at where to set up factories”, he concluded.
One District One Factory, one of the NPP’s most well-known programmes, is ascribed to Mr. Alan Kyerematen, the ministry’s current trade and industry minister.
Some African nations are actively executing the idea worldwide after studying its functioning method.
