Nana Yaw Wiredu has defended Stonebwoy for his recent comments about Ghana's non-representation at the recently concluded Grammy Awards.

After Wizkid and Burna Boy both bagged awards on the night, Stonebwoy took to Instagram to congratulate his colleagues, while also insinuating that Ghana will not be winning a Grammy award soon.

With All Due Respect Let All other African Nations Give It Up For Nigeria For their Constant efforts in Holding the Mantle for Africa when it comes to entertainment On The Global Scene. Congrats for holding it down at the Grammys.. As for Ghana, smh I’ll be back..”, he wrote on his Twitter page.

His comments immediately sparked public outrage, as hie colleagues berated him for belittling Ghana because of Nigeria's achievements.

Samini, the self-acclaimed mentor to the dancehall artiste, expressed his displeasure in the comments of his "son".

"You know you can’t throw dust in anyone's eyes my son. You know exactly where I’m coming from. Don’t trash GH in congratulating Nigeria because they don’t disrespect their legends like you do period."

"A word to the wise. After calling me a sellout on a public stage during your mismatch clash? Who sold out who? We come from #grade1 ... you got nerves to be tweeting at me. ShattaWale is a mate you are a son ... get the difference. You disappointed me, son.” Samini replied.

Nana Yaw Wiredu has now outlined that the critics of Stonebwoy's statement are unjustified.

According to him, all Stonebwoy is saying is for Ghanaians to come together, even the artistes in diaspora, to bring the music industry to greater heights.

“All Stonebwoy was trying to say was that a certain level of Nigerian powerhouse understands the fact that we need to go to the world together,” he told host Abrantepa, adding that “Two-thirds of Ghanaian artistes are ungrateful; we all know that."

"But Stonebwoy is trying to let us know that when you travel, you meet certain Ghanaians who are sitting in some key positions that have closed doors.” He noted

He then reprimanded Samini for his unneeded replies, as he labelled the comments as childish and unfruitful.

“Samini's tweets were needless and childish. The only part of the series of tweets that made sense was ‘to not trash GH and praise Nigeria’. Even that part doesn’t make sense but because of the gibberish he’s been putting out, let’s say that part made sense.”

"Whatever Stonebwoy is doing is what the father [Samini] has been doing. If Samini feels Stonebwoy is disrespecting him, it's because of what the son has seen the father do. Someone wins his Grammy, I express my views and you want to insult me in public, calling me a faker?" Nana Yaw added.
