Sidney Barima performed his 'Papa No' track, alongside others, at the Big Walk campaign in Kumasi, Bantama for Akufo-Addo.

His move throws political dirt in the eye of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after he claimed that the party had tried to intimidate him into sweeping his song under the carpet.

Watch the video below.

Barima, who clarified that he only supported the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  in 2016 because of its free SHS policy is back on the podium for the party again.

He was seen singing multiple bangers to the joy of the crowd at the campaign stage.

The Hiplife artiste had vowed to release the "Papa No" track despite a court injunction placed on him by staunch supporters of the NDC.

It was earlier reported that the artiste had been legally attacked over his "Papa No" track because supporters of the NDC felt it was a plot against Ex-President John Mahama to soil his name.

Sidney Barima, who had already explained that the song is not aimed at anyone but is just meant to follow the trend that was present at that time expressed his surprise at the turn of events. He has stated that the NDC individuals will not intimidate him into sweeping his song under the carpet while speaking with Class News' Nasaria Abdul Rahman.

“When I released this song, people were reading meanings into it. I never mentioned anybody’s name in the song. We are all looking for the ‘Papa No’ and we all don’t have any clue of him. All over social media, people were attaching some images to my song."

"Pictures of some high profile personalities like that of the former president Mahama who has nothing to do with the song was used. It’s not fair that I haven’t mentioned anybody’s name and yet I’ve been dragged to court. I know nothing about this and for that matter, my management is releasing a press statement to that effect,” he had said.

Sidney who has made no secret as to where his loyalties lie, recently that his allegiance is to the money and not to any political party in Ghana.

According to him, he is ready and available to campaign for any political party that is ready to pay his fee. He reasoned that

partisan politics should not restrict creativity in the entertainment industry; that there should be no discrimination between individual parties based on loyalty.

“In the world of creativity, there is no discrimination or else if people enter barbershops, they would ask if the barber belongs to NPP or NDC before allowing them to trim their hairs so if any party approaches me, so long as I know how to do what they want me to do, I will do it”.

“I will do a song for any political party that approaches me. I have done a lot of songs for different political parties in the past.
The politician may not be able to write their message through a song. As a creative, I don’t see why I shouldn’t compose a song for a political party.

"I am just relaying messages given to me from political parties. It is just like bringing a product to me to advertise for you”,

“You go the extra mile if you as an artist will be on their platform to perform the songs and state that you endorse the candidate. If you go that extra mile, your fans will be divided,” he said.
