Savannah Region fire Service Commander visits overlord of Gonjaland, blessings, Commander, Deputy,

The Savannah Regional Fire Service Commander, Mr. Mike Kofi Appiagyei, and his Deputy, Madam Iris Juliet Crabb have paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbongwura Professor Tuntunba Bore Essa I to formally introduce themselves to the Overlord. 

The visit was aimed to seek the overlord's blessings to enable them to deliver on their mandates as the new stewards of the Ghana National Fire Service in the region.

Mr. Mike Kofi did not mince words to express his profound gratitude to the Gonja Overlord for welcoming him and his entourage into his Palace and by extension, the Savannah region to enable him to continue with the good works his predecessor Kwasi Baffour-Awuah had left. 

The Regional Fire Commander further prayed the Gonja Overlord to support him to roll out his home fire safety education that will seek to enforce the property protection provisions in the amended L.I. 2249 to greatly help reduce the rate of domestic fire outbreaks within the Savannah Region. 

The Gonja Overlord in his remarks pledged his full support to the new officers, and ensure them to educate the residents on safety measures that will ultimately lead to a reduction of fire outbreaks in the Region.

The Yagbongwura Professor Tuntunba Bore Essa I, further urged the Command to send the fire safety education to the doorsteps of Residents and further appealed to the commander to extend such fire safety education and training to his Palace as well.

He stated that fire safety is key in all aspects of National development.

Mr. Appiagyei seized the opportunity to introduce his Deputy, Madam Iris Juliet Crabbe, and Members of his entourage and then presented a portable fire extinguisher to the Gonja Overlord as a kind gesture for treating them to a warm reception.
