Saudi Arabia has imposed an age limit on Hajj pilgrims.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that this year's Hajj will be held in Makkah, despite new constraints.

According to the authorities, those under the age of 65 who have gotten the major Covid-19 immunizations certified by the Saudi Ministry of Health are eligible to participate in this year's Hajj.

"Pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom must present a negative Covid-19 PC test result obtained within 72 hours of their departure from the Kingdom," the ministry added in a statement.

The Ministry declared that one million pilgrims, both foreign and local, will undertake Hajj this year, emphasizing that the safety and security of Hajj pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque are of paramount significance to the administration of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

It further stated that it would ensure that the greatest number of Muslims possible could conduct Hajj and visit the Prophet's Mosque in a secure and spiritual environment.

"The number of pilgrims arriving from certain countries for this year's Hajj will be determined in accordance with the quotas allotted to each nation and in consideration of all health considerations," the statement stated.

To ensure this and maintain the success it has had in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued instructions to all pilgrims to follow the health instructions and take all precautionary measures necessary to protect their health and safety while performing the Hajj ritual.
