Sarkodie: Cina Soul's voice may represent Ghana internationally

An internet remark made by Sarkodie about the singing prowess of Cina Soul roughly seven months ago has surfaced.

Sarkodie: Cina Soul's voice may represent Ghana internationally

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz 103.9 FM earlier this year, the renowned rapper praised Cina Soul for her unrestrained singing ability.

The rapper known as "Highest" defended his decision to use Cina Soul for one of the songs on his "Jamz" album, "Over Me," saying, "I think she is actually extremely good. Soul's voice is comparable to anything that may represent us globally.

Sarkodie expressed hope for Cina Soul's international success as a result.

"I have faith that she will get there. Which song [will lead her there] I don't know. I was certain when I saw King Promise. However, I had no idea how. However, I had a sneaking suspicion that he would become quite successful. And Cina Soul takes that stance," he pointed out.

This follows a recent remark about Cina Soul made by entertainment journalist and panelist Sally Mann on the music reality program The Darling Factor that airs on Adom TV.

Sally gave the candidate who sang Cina Soul's song some vocal coaching after hearing how she delivered the song.

She even declared that Cina Soul was exaggerated.

I'm not sure if you intentionally tried to sound like Cina Soul. However, your voice range is lovely. You could have carried it out the same manner you always do.

Be genuine. Diana is the only possible individual. You are that, plus you have a lovely voice. Because I believe Cina Soul is one lady who has been overrated in Ghana, you didn't need to sound like her, she remarked.

Sally's statement caused controversy and sparked discussions on several social media sites. While some are criticizing her for calling Cina Soul "overrated," others believe her statement was innocent.

Cina Soul has made a suggestion that she will respond to Sally's remark with a song in the interim.

The song's preview, titled "Plenty Evil," which was released on Cina's social media accounts on September 17, 2023, begins with Sally calling the song "overrated."

On September 21, 2023, a Thursday, it will be released.

Songs by Cina Soul include "Ojorley," "Feelings," "Die 4 You," and "Killi Me," among others.

She has appeared on Sarkodie's 'Over Me' as well, but it is her performance on Akwaboah's 'Obiaa' that has garnered the most praise from her contemporaries.
