Samini has defended his decision to publicly support the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2020 general elections.

He endorsed President Akufo-Addo for a second term in his song titled Kpoyaka in which he catalogued the achievements of the president ranging from the agric, service, manufacturing and industry sectors of the economy.

“Nana show boy is number one on the ballot, Nana continues with the work because you have delivered,” Samini said.

Samini further described Akufo-Addo as original, hardworking, competent and someone who is known by the international community for his good governance.

The veteran has been submerged under heavy criticism for his actions, with some claiming that he sold his soul to politicians for money while others labelled him a hypocrite for making an endorsement song for a political party after he had earlier said that he would not.

He has now explained on his Twitter page that he chose Akufo-Addo to continue good governance.

According to him, democracy offers him the chance to choose, therefore he has chosen. When questioned by a fan on Twitter, Samini expressed himself and defended his choice.
