Ruth Adjei has become the first-ever gospel artiste to win the Gospel Artiste of the Year award at the maiden edition of the Above and Beyond Recognition Awards.

The graceful songstress bagged the award at the event that was held virtually on May 29, 2021, live from CEEJAY Multimedia Studios in Accra due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the call for people to avoid large gatherings.

Being organized by PowerHouse Entertainment, the awards has 78 categories, which include Media House of the Year, Best Actor and Actress of the Year, Blogger of the Year, Comedian of the Year, Favorite Film of the Year, Sports Personality of the Year, TV and Radio Personality of the Year.

Notable Ghanaian celebrities who have bagged nominations for the ‘Above and Beyond Recognitions’ awards include, Nana Baffour for blogger of the year category, Dboypizza, Dancer of the year, Nessathemodel, Model of the year, Sweetpea Pernel, actor of the year, Brandir Designs Graphic, designer of the year category.

Ruth Adjei, who is known for her 2019 songs 'Fa me Ye', Me bo', 'Ma me nye de wo', and an album titled 'The mercy seat', is back with another spirit-filled song titled 'Oshidaa'.
