Residents of Yaakrom appeal to MTN Ghana to upgrade their mast with 4G data and connect the power system to the national grid.

Yaakrom is a fast-growing town located in the Dormaa West District in the Bono Region of Ghana.

The Community has a population of over 9000 and a lot of villages around it.

MTN Ghana has a telecommunication mast in the community which is dormant.

For the past four years, people of Yaakrom are suffering from poor network coverage which according to their complaints consumes their credit during a phone call.

In an interview with Soiree News Nana Ama Asiedu, Assembly Member for Yaakrom electoral area who is also the Presiding Member for Dormaa West District Assembly, Honorable Francis Oppong Kwadwo stressed that “the network sometimes does not go through when you call, especially in the evening which we suspect is congestion."

"Again it sometimes doesn't give us a clear voice which we find it difficult to hearing from the other party”.

According to him, the mast lack data to go to the internet which is a very big problem for the populace especially the government workers and students.

He is therefore appealing to the Authorities of MTN Ghana to upgrade the Yaakrom mast with 4G data and connect the power system to the national grid with a standby generator for the people to get the full benefit of the mast.
