Residents of Gwira Ambgazie Bemoan of Collapse Bridge.

Some residents of Gwira Amgbanzi in the Evalue Gwira Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana, have expressed worry about the poor state of the wooden bridge which is posing a threat to their lives in the area.

The wooden bridge which leads to Gwira Amgbanzie and other communities with a total population of about 1200 had been the major concern to residents plying on the bridge.

Speaking to some residents they lamented that, the bridge has become a death trap hence vehicles are unable to ply, as a result, they have to carry farm produce on their heads to walk for long distances before they can cross over the bridge.

They added that in case there is an incident when someone is sick and needs urgent medical attention, they have to carry such persons in their hands which can worsen their situation owing to the delay.

They are therefore calling on authorities to come to their aid to help them fix the death trap bridge to avoid the danger it poses to them, especially to their children.

The Member of Parliament for the Evalue Adjomorro Gwira Constituency, Honourable Kofi Arko Nokoe also in an interview said, he is looking for funds to fix the bridge permanently for the residents.

He said, though is very difficult for him now to get money for the construction of the bridge but called on the Municipal Assembly as a matter of urgency to consider the number of farms produce by the communities over their supply to the Municipality to support them and construct the bridge for the people.
