Regional official among nine killed in attack

In the wake of a suicide explosion, nine people have perished in Marka, a seaside hamlet in Lower Shebelle, Somalia.

The explosion that occurred outside the district headquarters may have resulted in several casualties, according to reports.

Abdullahi Wafow, the district commissioner, and some of his security guards were slain in an attack, according to the al-Shabab extremist group.

The village of Marka is located 90 kilometers (56 miles) south of Mogadishu.
