Ramos is fine - Luis Enrique defends decision for taking off Ramos

Luis Enrique has defended his actions by taking off Sergio Ramos in the Spain – Greece World Cup qualifying match at the Los Carmenes Stadium.

La Roja played a 1-1 draw against Greece on Thursday night and the Real Madrid captain was withdrawn at half time for Inga Martinez who gave away a penalty  10 minute after coming on.

The Spain boss has told that he agreed with Ramos earlier that he would only play in the first half and the decision is not as a result of injury whatsoever.

"Ramos is fine. We decided beforehand that he would only play the first half," Luis Enrique told in his post-match press conference cited on Marca.

The manager was not content with the results following the giveaway which led to the equalizer from the spot. As to whether he regretted his decision, Luis Enrique kept his stance of not making debated comments.

"I would like to know how it came about, but I don't want to get into controversy," Luis Enrique said.

Spain sits third in Group B with a point after Sweden and Greece.

Sweden is the first side to record a win in the opening match in the Group against Georgia by a goal to nill.

La Roja will play Georgia on Sunday away from home.
