Ralph Hasenhuttl is disappointed about the 9-0 results of his team against Manchester United and is bothered by its repetition.

The last time he conceded much goals in the Premier League was against Brendan Rodgers Leicester City at Saint Marys. The Foxes moved up to second with a record-breaking 9-0 win against 10-man Southampton on Friday, October 25, 2019.

Manchester United moved same points with City on second with two games in hand for the former as the Saints drop to 12 after a fourth consecutive defeat.

Alexandre Jankewitz lasted less than a minute on his full Premier League debut after a dangerous foul on Scott McTominay just at the restart.

The manager who has on the touchline both home and away witnessing such defeat believes the repetition hurts more than the initial.

“We don't need this result to know what we have to do better,” the Southampton boss said reflecting on another 9-0 defeat in charge of the club.

“This time it's a completely different situation, not that it hurts less. The opposite. It hurts even more when you get this result again.

“But, I mean, the team is a different one now and it's the reason why we've played a good season so far, so let's see how the season ends. Better than the past, I think.”

Southampton will visit 16 placed Newcastle United on Saturday. The Magpies suffered defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
