The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Mrs. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has commissioned the 28th Community Centre she has built for the chiefs and good people in Mankron and Domeabra in the Agona East.

The commission of the centres was attended by the Vice Presidential Candidate for the NDC, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Agona Mankron Nana Ntsiful Abredu II, Mr Kwasi Ahwoi, Mr Frank Aggrey, Mr. George Piese Asante Addo, Dr. Pepper, the Regional, constituency and branch executives among other high profile personalities.
"Yesterday was another memorable day for me when to the glory of GOD I commissioned the 28th Community centre built for the good people of Agona East

'My greatest gratitude goes to my mother and pillar Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, 2020 Vice Presidential Candidate for the NDC for making time out of busy schedule to join the commissioning of the centres in Agona Mankrong and supporting us with an additional project of an information centre to the people of Domeabra. Mummy I am most grateful.

I hope and pray that these community centres would be put into good use for the betterment of my people. We shared pure Love and laughter at both commissioning," she noted.

Speaking at the event, Hon Maame Pokuah who is popularly known as Obatampa thanked the chief and people of Agona Mankron for their patience and massive support for her and NDC.

He cataloged the several achievements by the previous NDC government for the community and assured the people of her commitment to help provide similar facility for the rest of the communities within the constituency.

Mrs Queenstar Pokuah Sawyer cautioned leaders and members of the NDC to avoid repeating the ‘mistakes’ the party made during the 2020 general elections which includes their failure to vote during the last election due to anger for not befitting from the party and deceit by ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) which has so far been a disappointment .
 
“As we inaugurate this Community Centre today, let me use this forum to urge all of you here, especially the NDC members, not to make that mistake again. If you did not vote or you voted for the NPP at the last election, do not make such mistake, as you can see, since they (NPP)  came to power have you heard of any development project?

The MP who was the former Deputy Central Regional Minister therefore called on all to unite as the party restructure for a comeback to right the wrongs of the NPP government.
 
She assured the Chiefs and people of Agona East of her unrelenting commitment to their needs at all times whiles urging them to continue supporting her to deliver.
 
Obatampa was full of praise for the people who helped to erect the structure, which she noted will provide a convenient environment for social events.

For his party, the Chief of Agona Mankron Nana Ntsiful Abredu II commended the female MP for building and handing over of newly built community centers in Agona Mankron and Agona Domeabra in the Agona East constituency by her.
He cautioned the youth of Agona Mankron not to use newly built community center in Agona Mankron as a host of social vices such as gang weed smoking  and fornication. 

The chief advised the people of Agona Mankron do things that will help in the development of their town.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman in her part urged parents of Agona East to send  their children to school. 
She also advised that people of Agona East should help promote peace in their town.
