The Ghanaian president has assured farmers in the Western North Region that anything hindering their cocoa production will be resolved before he leaves office.

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo has expressed his profound gratitude over the success of the cocoa rehabilitation Programme across the country under the auspicious of Ghana Cocobod to revive the cocoa sector in the country.

President Akuffo-Addo said the programme has employed thousands of the youth into the exercise to revive the decline in cocoa production in the Western North and Ghana at large.

He added that, since the regime of the former president, John Agyekum Kuffour, the cocoa industry has declined and due to major policies implemented in the sector such as replanting of Cocoa seedlings and controlling of Cocoa diseases the productions of Cocoa has begun boosting.

On the cocoa farmers pension scheme, President NananAddo Dabkwa Akufo Addo added that government would deliver his promise to the farmers because of their tremendous contribution to national development.

Nana Akuffo-Addo touched on youth in agriculture and stated that the Minister of Food and Agric would negotiate with the chiefs to allocate land for the youths to grow more cocoa.

Finally, the president disclosed that very soon the people of the Western North will have better road network because the region contributes more to Ghana's economy.
