POWER SERVICES, FUEL PRICE HIKES: MINORITY CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE REDUCTIONS

 The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called for the immediate reduction of the power Services and the high fuel prices at the pumps.

      Speaking to the Press today in Parliament, The Ranking Member of the Power and Energy Committee, John Abu Jinapor said the PURC secretly reviewed the service charges that included single or double light pole charges.

He said the PURC did not seek approval but passed the back door to the detriment of consumers.

The Minority Caucus also questioned the high prices, Ghanaians were buying fuel at the pumps, due to the unnecessary taxes on petroleum prices.
