Portable water for consumption, our major challenge - Bisiw Residents cry.

Inhabitants at Bissiw No. 1 and No. 2, communities in the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal of the Ashanti region are crying bitterly for portable water.

Residents say the lack of potable water for their daily activities and other domestic use has been a big blow for some time now

According to a formal assembly member for the area, Fuseini Alhassan, he disclosed that they have tried several ways of getting potable water for daily use but to no avail.

"We have to dig some boreholes at the water lanes before we can have little water for consumption which is very bad", Mr. Alhassan stressed.

Adding that the little ey manage to have for consumption is being spoiled by cattle belonging to some  Fulani herdsmen, hence they remain as self-security within where the borehole Is located for prevention.

He said, their situation keeps worsening leading to teachers avoiding teaching in their villages.

Teachers come and leave,  some even refuse to come at all despite providing secured quarters for them. They are sometimes forced to buy sachet water to bathe and perform other duties, due to that, they decide to quit teaching in our village he bitterly said.

Residents adding their voices express that the unsafe water has been their major issue in the area which needs swift assistance.

Residents say some students in the community are forced to stay home and avoid class due to the water crisis.

They are therefore appealing to the authority, philanthropic and social organization to aid them with portable water to enhance health in the area.
