There is tension at the various branches of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) within the Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region.
This development, Soireenews.com gathered had followed the claims that some elements or supporters of the other parliamentary hopeful who is lacing his boot to contest upcoming parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the NDC allegedly assassinating a 48-year-old business mogul, Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong, affectionately called Darling Boy, who is also contesting the NDC's parliamentary election.
These matters came to a head when some of the faceless supporters of the other potential parliamentary candidates of the NDC were attacking the integrity of Mr Frimpong who has been tipped by the majority of delegates and members of the NDC to win the NDC parliamentary primaries and lead the party to win the seat in the 2024 general elections.
All these dirty plots started when these elements of the NDC in the constitueny are saying that Mr Frimpong is not recognized member of the NDC as well as not a registered voter in the constituency.
But investigations conducted to cross the facts of the membership drive of the NDC within the constituency have revealed that Mr Frimpong has been a registered card bearing member of the NDC who has been in a good standing since 2016 after he has legally and successfully transferred his vote from the Accra to Lower West Akim constituency.
In an interview with scores of the executives leadership of the NDC in the constituency during the fact finding mission, they registered their displeasure about the continuous attitudes and behaviours of supporters of the other parliamentary hopeful of engaging in the politics of character assassination against Mr Frimpong.
We are not happy why the supporters of other opponent would be going round within the branches of the constituency peddling falsehoods against Mr Frimpong that he has not voted at 31 Polling Station and that when they went to the online to check out it has indicated that he [Owen Kwame Frimpong) has not voted on the 31 Polling Station.
"This is a complete and fabricated lies and that it was a cooked story by enemies of Mr Frimpong, ostensibly to score their political points. But they had failed," stated by some of the executives leadership of the NDC in the area who spoke to Soireenews.com on condition of anonymity.
They started that the name of Mr Frimpong has been in the register of the Lower West Akim constituency of the NDC and they dared these elements to cross check their fact from the Green Book of the NDC since Mr Frimpong has been captured in the book.
According to him, the name of Mr Frimpong has been above the red line in the book and if the name of him [Mr Owen Kwame Frimpong] is below the red line "which means that he comes to do the registration in the current registration exercise of the NDC in the area."
They noted that the constitution of the NDC stipulates that before "such a person to contest the parliamentary on the ticket of the NDC, it means that a person should be a member of party for four good years.
In the matter of Mr Frimpong, they stated that he has met the standard requirements of the NDC hence he has qualified to contest the parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the NDC.
"We are telling these self seeking individuals and groups within the NDC in the Lower West Akim constituency that they should be aware that Mr Frimpong has voted at 31 Polling Station in the area and that he secured a transfer from his previous voting polling station in Accra to the Lower West Akim constituency in the year since 2016," they explained.
"In a legitimacy Mr Frimpong is the original parliamentary candidate and whatever bad things these enemies are saying about Mr Frimpong, they should know that Darling Boy is beyond reasonable doubt.
"So he is more than qualify to contest the parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the NDC in the Lower West Akim constituency," they stressed.
