Pep Guardiola says a new contract to extend his stay at Manchester City can wait.

The Mirror reported on Tuesday morning that Guardiola will be offered an improved deal by Manchester City after his impressive stats at the club.

The Spaniard has won two Premier League titles, plus the FA Cup and two League Cups as he enters into the final stage of his contract, which runs out in 2021.

City want to tie Guardiola at the Etihad hoping to secure an European silverware for the club following the revoke of the two-year ban.

When asked about his future in a pre-match conference, Pep Guardiola said he was "happy" at Manchester City but added that "now is not the time" to discuss a new contract.

Pep spent four seasons in Spain and won 14 trophies across six different competitions before taking a break from football after the 2011/12 campaign. 

He returned to coaching in 2013/14 and replaced Jupp Heynckes.

He won three Bundesliga titles on the bounce, with silverware also coming via the DFB-Pokal, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
