Mikel Arteta says Thomas Partey’s inclusion in the Arsenal squad that will face Manchester City over the weekend will not be a decision tougher to make judging from the player’s quickness to adapt.

The Gunners will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday following their 2-1 win over Sheffield United at the Emirates before the international break.

The Citizens played a 1-1 draw with Leeds United and will be looking forward to overcoming their 5-2 home loss to Leicester City when Arsenal visits.

Arteta’s side acquired Thomas Partey, the Ghanaians international who has been one of the most sought players by Arsenal from Atletico Madrid hours before the close of the transfer window.

The 28-year old’s arrival saw hopes in the heart of Gunners following Partey’s impressive form at Atletico Madrid; a performance he is hoping to show with strength and dynamism to progress the Europa League competitors.

Asked whether the Gunners exclusive purchase will make his debut at the Etihad, Arteta said, “Well he was here just yesterday, he is getting familiar with everything around the club.”

“Today he will have his first training session, so everything has to come really quickly for him. We knew that before we signed him that he is fit, he is very willing to start playing and we will see how he goes in the next few days.
 
“I have seen the buzz around the place, the fans are really happy, I have seen some really positive reactions after we bought him, the same with the team, the squad and the staff. I think he is a player we had the radar on for a long time and we have managed to bring him in and I think he will be a really important addition to the team.
 
“He got to know some of his team-mates [already]. Not all of them, because some are still on international duty but we will have everyone back today and it will be a good day for him to get to know everyone.”
