A 21-year-old orphan who was involved in a ghastly accident is at the intensive care unit of the Tema General Hospital battling for her life.
According to the doctors at the hospital, her condition could result in death if urgent attention was not given to her which required an emergency surgery.
Dorothy Abekah was a victim of an accident involving a motorbike and a fuel tanker on the 12 of June, 2022 around the Ashaiman Timber Market roundabout.
Dorothy Abekah, who had just been enrolled in a dressmaking apprenticeship by her caretaker, had her two legs burnt after being trapped under the fuel tanker during the accident.

The medical doctor at the Female Surgical Ward at the Tema General Hospital, Dr. Baaba Dadzie, explained how the poor lady could die from her condition.
Maame Konadu, an aged caretaker of the victim, pleaded with corporate entities, individuals, and non-governmental organisations to come to the aid of Dorothy Abekah.

Meanwhile, one month since the accident occurred, the Ashaiman MTTD of the Ghana Police Service was yet to initiate an investigation into the accident.
However, the driver of the fuel tanker has been given bail by the police.
