NUGS Calls On Labour  Commission To Withdraw  Court Suit Against UTAG  And Go Into Negotiation
Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel, NUGS President
The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has called on National Labour Commission (NLC), to as a matter of urgency withdraw court suit against the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and go into the negotiations.
Addressing a crowded press conference in Accra on Tuesday, January 31, 2022
The National President of NUGS, Mr. Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel stressed the need for UTAG to reconsider its decision to take steps to call off the strike and return to negotiations.
The President used the platform to call on the government as matter of urgency to expedite the implementation of the labor market survey.
According to him, the UTAG and government must not that parents make expenses to keep their wards in school and it is unfair that the expenses get wasted as students loiter around university campuses without resumption of academic work.
The president seized the opportunity to urge all students to remain calm as the Union do their very best to appeal to parties involved to resolve the impasse.
"It is our fervent hope and prayer that the good Lord touches and softens the heart of parties involved to resolve issues amicably without thoughts of its reoccurring anything soon," he noted.
