Before Barcelona’s Champions League 8-2 humiliation by Bayern Munich, the Blaugranas were in a strong position to sign back their former winger, Neymar following his departure in a move worth €222 million, making him the most expensive player ever in 2017.

The story is different today after Messi tendered a transfer request to the Spanish club on Tuesday which determined his desire to leave the club as he enter his final year of his current contract.

Telefoot reports that Neymar has contacted the 33-year old Argentine to join the Ligue 1 champions.

Messi's probable destination is Manchester City – the Argentine seeks to reunite with former boss, Pep Guardiola who had a hand in his development at Barcelona where numerous accolades were won.

The Man city manager during his four seasons in charge FC Barcelona won 14 titles: three league titles, two Champions League, two Copa del Rey, three Spanish Super Cups, two European Super Cups, and two FIFA World Club Cups – an achievement Messi believes could be repeated if he joins Man City in a money-spinning deal.

PSG were finalists of the Champions and are looking forward to recruiting the best players across Europe as they look forward to winning their first European cup. Already linked to Ronaldo, the Portuguese has snubbed rumors of his decision to leave Juventus after their disappointing exit from the European cup knockout stage by Lyon.

Telefoot added that although PSG have held meetings on how to convince the Argentine to join the French Ligue yet a move to Paris by the six-time Ballon d’Or winner is highly unlikely.
