The sudden demise of the National Democratic Congree's Vice Chairperson, Honourable Dr. Hanny Sherry Ayittey has thrown the rank and file of the party into a state of mourning.

The incident which was reported last Saturday, July 22, 2023, has been described in a press statement signed by the National Chairman, Honourable Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah as unfortunate.

Referred to as hardworking and selfless by the party, her loss has left the rank and file of the party sober and reflective.

Glowing tributes have since been pouring in following her death.

Dr. Hanny Sherry Ayittey was a Former Minister of Fisheries and stalwart of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) whose death was one that has robbed the party, family, and country of an elder with sterling contribution span over a generation.

"We in the NDC are devastated by the sudden and unfortunate blow at the appropriate time, we shall demonstrate our gratitude to her love of nation and party", an excerpt of the statement read in part.

"We console ourselves, her family and request for strength and fortitude for the family and friends as preparation is made"
