British High Commission dines with security officers

As part of events to commemorate the month of Ramadan, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Harriet Thompson invited some selected female representatives from the various security Services to have an "iftar"  (Breaking of Fast) at her residence at Cantonments in Accra.

The theme for the event was "promoting religious tolerance and peace Building - the Role of Women

The Second Lady, Her Excellency Samira Bawumia was the special guest of honor and joined the ladies in breaking the fast and praying to Allah the Almighty.

The event provided an opportunity to network and discussion of possible policies, partnerships, and initiatives to promote the role of Women in Peace Building and Religious Tolerance as an Instrument for Nation Building.

The UK High Commissioner also shared with the participants,  the UK's commitment to the Promotion of Freedom of Religion and Beliefs as well as Women's Empowerment.

The brief event drew selected Women from the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana Prisons Service.
