National Peace Council Wades Into Impasse Between Archbishop Agyinasare And Nogokpo Traditional Authorities
National Peace Council (NPC) has waded into the ongoing impasse between the Traditional rulers of Nogokpo and the Founder and Head Pastor of the Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyin-Asare.

In a statement signed issued by the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi and copied to Soireenews.com, the Council said it has noted with concern the current impasse between Archbishop Charles Agyin-Asare and Nogokpo Traditional Authorities in the Volta Region.

Below is the statement from the Council

The founder and head pastor of the Perez Chapel International, has come under intense criticism and condemnation from the people of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta region after he described the town as the “demonic headquarters” in the region.
The respected pastor speaking at a summit held in his church on Wednesday, May 24, recalled a near-tragic incident at Nogokpo whiles returning from a crusade at Aflao, to buttress his claim.
Archbishop Agyinasare said he made one of his Pastors, Yaw Adu talk about witchcraft and they disgraced the witches and wizards over there. As a result, when they were passing through the Nogokpo township, Pastor Adu had his tyres coming out of his four-wheel vehicle.
However, residents of the community and other towns in the region, have not taken kindly to the comments.
The Nogokpo Shrine firmly stated that, their religion does not endorse lies, fake prophecies, or defrauding people under false pretenses.
They criticized the practice of extorting money from individuals in the name of gaining entry into a non-existent heaven.
According to the post, “the shrine does not lose focus by preaching about other religions but rather concentrates on its own ethical principles.”
The Nogokpo Shrine advised Archbishop Agyin-Asare to redirect his efforts towards educating his members about their own religion, rather than attacking others.
The community members insist that Rev. Agyinasare must retract his comments and apologize.
Meanwhile, Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, the founder, and leader of Alive Chapel International has claimed that the Nogokpo shrine doesn't have the power to kill Archbishop Charles Agyinasare
According to him, God has blessed Archbishop Charles Agyinasare with a lot of anointing hence he is too powerful to be killed by mere gods.
He further stressed that, is even wrong for traditional leaders of Nogokpo to issue an ultimatum to the man of God and threaten him if he fails to avail himself within the 14-day ultimatum issued.
"Charles Agyinasare is too powerful to be killed by the Nogokpo shrine, the anointing on him too great that no evil spirit can hurt him. Let me tell you today that is not every soul that can be killed by the devil like we are all dead," Bishop Salifu Amoako exclusively told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.
"Archbishop Charles Agyinasare's comment on Nogokpo was taken out of context people didn't understand what he wanted to say well and they blew it out of proportion."
The Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Benjamin Ohene Aboagye made the declaration on Sunday, June 4, 2023. According to him, the church has decided to lean on God to fight the battle for it and its leader.
“On the 25th of last month, during our Supernatural Empowerment Summit, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare made a statement concerning the Nogokpo issue. I think we are all aware of the issue in Ghana. It is trending on social media and other platforms. We, the Perez Council, on behalf of the Executive Council, have taken notice of all these things and this is what the Executive Council is saying.
"We are declaring a one-week fast from the 5th to the 11th of this month, and we expect all pastors, elders, deacons, deaconesses, and all our churches to participate in this fast for one week. We believe that God is our helper. He is our rock. He is the one we look up to. So, this is the decision we have taken for now. We expect everyone [in all our branches] to take part in this fast,” the senior pastor said.
A statement made by the man of God referring to the Volta Region's infamous town as the "demonic headquarters" infuriated the town, which is home to a thunder deity of justice.
