Yaw Tog has stated that his comment about making U.K.'s Stormzy popular in Ghana with his 'Sore' remix has been misunderstood.

The fast-rising prodigy, in an earlier interview, had noted that his 'Sore' track which featured British rapper Stormzy was beneficial to both artists.

According to him, the track helped him gain world recognition while he helped Stormzy gain recognition in Ghana.

“He made me more popular in this market. And I made him more popular here too. Because people didn’t know Stormzy in Ghana. So, I think we both did magic to ourselves. Magic to our brands,” He noted.

Fans were quick to berate his comments by labelling him and a proud and ungrateful artiste.

They maintained that an artist like him could not in any way help Stormzy become more popular in a space, especially not in Ghana.

The American rapper was immediately labelled as selfish for his comments that seemed to suggest that he made Stormzy popular in Ghana.

To this end, he has now reacted by saying that he did not mean all of what the media is trying to say he meant.

In a tweet on July 8, 2021, he wrote: "It's quite unfortunate a very harmless comment I made during a recent interview has been misconstrued by a few for whatever reason but regardless, we move. It's Big Mike on the Remix." He noted.

Yaw Tog's fans have still supported him by saying he did not do anything wrong, since he also introduced Stormzy to his fans.

A Twitter user, Kel wrote: "Some people hate it when you got confidence. Don’t let them block your shine, keep on being confident."Don’t mind them. Ghanaians always act like they love you and will always be there for you but low key they want you down. Keep your head up champ. Just do have you have to do. After all, it is God who blesses people."
