The minority caucus in parliament has reiterated its earlier stand that the Bank of Ghana has legally printed

 GHS22 Billion.

Addressing a press conference today, Ranking on the Finance Committee, Hon Cassiel Ato Forson said a  statement released by the Central Bank purporting to debunk the revelation that has rather painted the rots in the Bank of Ghana.

According to him, the Central bank’s claim that it has used 6 billion Ghana Cedis from IMF sources was untrue.

He questioned where the Bank of Ghana got the 11 billion Ghana it gave to the government of Ghana as an overdraft.

He, therefore, called for further and better particulars from the Bank of Ghana to explain their position on what he termed an unfortunate matter.

For clarity, he further directed some six questions to the Central Bank, one of which is why the Bank of Ghana has halted lending money to commercial banks but busily lending money to the government.

Adding his voice, ranking member on the Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism of Parliament, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan expects the BoG to do the needful on the matter and purge its name from the rather unacceptable practice.
