Lionel Messi is more poised than before to leave the club that he had his allegiance pledged to some years ago.

The Argentine has given the club’s supporters no hope of a change of mind following his transfer request tendered last week about his departure.

The issue seems to have turned sourer than it was anticipated earlier as the majority of football stakeholders thought the player could rescind his decision and continue his trade in La Liga.

Sky Sports reports that Messi’s head and heart seem out of the club, a clear indication that Leo is not ready to play for Barca again and is more focused to opt for a move in the Premier League than before.

“Lionel Messi is much more determined to leave the club than he was six days ago,” Gary Cotterill whiles reporting from Barcelona on Monday.

“The Barcelona board I think now privately accept that at some point Messi is going to leave the club and the fans also realize that. This isn’t a case of Messi spitting his dummy out about the club not being to his liking. This time it’s different. It seems his head and his heart is elsewhere.

“We now have an extraordinary situation where Messi – the talisman of Barcelona – is now a Barcelona rebel. He’s officially on strike.”

Messi has a year left on his current contract, with a release clause of 700m euros. Barcelona would either accept a cut-price or get nothing when the player honors his remaining contract at the Camp Nou.

LaLiga reminded the player through a released statement clarifying that he must pay his release clause if he wants to leave Barcelona.

The stage of matters means the 33-year-old believes there is no tomorrow in Barcelona.
