Mayor of Tamale Visits Ababoa Fire Victims

The Mayor of Tamale, Honourable Sule Salifu has visited the Aboabu Market fire disaster site to see for himself, the extent of the damage caused by the Saturday fire.

Addressing the media after the inspection said the misfortune will affect not only the traders and their respective families but the entire Region. 

The Mayor convened the  Assembly's sympathy over the loss and assured the traders of immediate steps taken by the Assembly to clear the debris among other interventions aimed at averting the reoccurrence of this misfortune.

Honorable Sule has directed the building inspectorate unit of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to sanction and supervise the clearance of a few unauthorized structures that were sighted in the vicinity to help improve access routes to and around the market.

He was in the company of the MCD, Mr. Gilbert B Nuuri-Teg, and two of his Deputies, Madam Hajia Rumaisha and Mr. Blaise Dasanah. 

Other officials included the Metropolitan Director for National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO as well as personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service.
