MASLOC CEO entreats loan defaulters in Ashanti Region to pay back

The Chief Executive Officer of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre(MASLOC) Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakaria has entreated dees in Ashanti Region to cooperate with them to recover the debt they own to the company.

She stated that MASLOC lend 22million Cedis to traders in Ashanti Region but they can recover only GHS 11million which over 10 million is still in arrears to be recovered.

Hajia Abibata stated that recorded 100% recoveries to the loan which was given to Central market traders in Kumasi previously, so she is confident that the traders will pay.

She reiterated the need to cooperate with MASLOC especially, on loan repayment to enable more people to benefit from the scheme, adding that, there has been a drastic reduction in the interest rate on loans given to their clients as part of ongoing efforts to reduce the debt burden on clients, which closely leads to default payment.

CEO for MASLOC indicated that the company will consider market women as their target on their strategic document before the youth and physically challenge people.

She mentioned that most women pay the loan more than the men per their records, so their next line of action will assist the women most.
