Liverpool have been reportedly shown keen interest in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder, Saul Niguez as they line up a £35million offer.

Niguez still have five years left to run on his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, but Atletico Madrid are set to sell the prolific midfielder this summer.

Despite the 26-year-old midfielder being part of the players who won the La Liga title for the Rojiblancos, it is understood that Rojiblancos wants to sell some of its players due to financial difficulties as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Diego Simeone's side are prepared to part ways with Saul, but they are looking for at least £35m, this according to AS.

They claim that Liverpool are willing to fork out that fee with Jurgen Klopp desperate to replace Georginio Wijnaldum after the Dutchman departed on a free transfer.

It has been claimed that the Merseyside outfit are leading the race to take the two-time Europa League winner away from Atletico.

Manchester United are also known to be la long-term admirers of Niguez and could look to press ahead with a move should Paul Pogba depart from Old Trafford.

Reports further suggest that Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also shown their interest in the Rojiblancos star with the latter having made approach earlier this year on the midfielder.
