With Van Dijk and Gomez’s recovery still a long way to go, Jürgen Klopp wants to bolster his defensive department to uphold the Premier League title in a comfortable manner and depending solely on the role conversion of Fabinho and the involvement of youngsters in the action-packed fixture ahead won't help his course.

Sky Germany reports that Jürgen Klopp has contacted Schalke over a possible deal for Kabak who joined from Stuttgart in 2019.

The 20-year-old is wanted by Manchester United and RB Leipzig with his price valued at €20m.

The Turkish footballer’s contract runs until June 2024.
