Messi won the Golden boot whiles Zidane and Lopetegui were crowned as best managers.

Karim Benzema has appreciated the Alfredo Di Stefano prize for being the best player in the La Liga Santander in the 2019/20 season.

The French forward spoke pleasure for the role played last season that contributed to Madrid’s success and remained elated to have been awarded ahead of Messi and Ronaldo.

"It means a lot," Benzema said after receiving the trophy.

"I feel proud and very happy. It's the reward for my work at this club since 2009 and, as I say, it makes me very satisfied, without doubt.

"I've been at Real Madrid for many years and I always work to keep helping the team.

"[Messi and Ronaldo] are something else. They've won lots of individual awards and, for me, it's an honour to win it ahead of these two players."

Zidane’s men claimed their 34th Spanish League title after the coronavirus break with a five-point difference against the former Champions.

Karim Benzema scored 25 goals during that campaign and has a total of 260 goals in 530 appearances for the Los Blancos in all competitions. He attributed that better performance comes from hard work and relationship with teammates.

"I make an effort in each training session thinking about each game," the striker added. "My idea is to show every day that I can play for this club that, for me, has always been the best in the world."

The award is Benzema's, but who would he have given it to?

"There are lots [of possible winners]," he said. "For example, Sergio Ramos, who had a great season. "I don't look at players from other clubs; always my teammates."

The 67th edition of the MARCA Awards is to recognize hardworking players within a particular season in the La Liga.

Lionel Messi picked up the Pichichi Trophy after his 25 goals in the same season. Courtois took home the Zamora trophy, beating last year’s winner, Jan Oblak having won it thrice with Atletico Madrid.

The Miguel Munoz, an award given to the best manager was shared by Madrid’s Zidane and Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui after finishing on 67 points in MARCA’s ratings.
