Liverpool have requested to bring Spurs Paulo Gazzaniga as back up for Alisson Becker, talkSPORTS reports.

The Reds heavily lost to Aston Villa on Sunday night at the Villa Park by 7-2, a scoreline which was set ablaze by Adrian’s fourth-minute blunder that gifted Jack Grealish an assist after Gomez mistracked the ball for Ollie Watkins first goal.

Liverpool fans were left furious at the goalkeeper’s repetitive mistakes which always cost them games following their Champions League exit by Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

The Reds were two goals up against Simeone’s men at Anfield only for Adrian’s howler to give Rojablancos a step forward through Marcos Llorente and a double to edge out Klopp’s men.

Jurgen Klopp updated that Alisson will be out for six weeks, which mean the Brazilian will miss the Merseyside Derby on October 17 plus other six games within that period.

“Yesterday an incident in training, very unlucky – two players clash with each other, one gets up, one doesn’t,” said the Reds boss. “The one who didn’t get up was Ali.

“So, after the first few things, we don’t know 100%. But he cannot play today.

“We have to do further assessment, but he’s injured, let me say it like this. Now we hope it will go really quickly.

“It’s an international break, I’m pretty sure after that he will not be ready. Then we have to see week by week.”

Those fixtures include the first three group games in the Champions League with Ajax at Netherlands,  FC Midtjylland at Anfield and Atalanta away, along with the Merseyside derby and an away clash with Man City, who sit five points behind the champions.

The arrival of Joe Hart at Spurs in the summer gives Mourinho’s side more option if their 28-year old decides to leave for Anfield.

Everton are also reported to have enquired about the Paulo with Jordan Pickford coming under pressure for his position having made a number of errors.
