Liverpool have not reached agreement for Sarr
Ismaila Sarr

Ismaila Sarr’s Liverpool transfer has been clarified by TalkSPORTS revealing that the news of the Senegalese heading to Anfield is ‘Hogwash’.

France Football reported on Monday that Watford and Liverpool have agreed on a £32m to £36m transfer fee for the 25-year old to enable him to link up with fellow compatriot, Sadio Mane at Anfield.

TalkSPORTS sources at Anfield have dismissed the speculations and straightened that there is no deal as such.

“There are reports in France that Watford have agreed on a fee with Liverpool to sell Ismaila Sarr.

“I’ve taken that up with my contacts at the club, and that has been described as ‘hogwash’, talkSPORT’s transfer inside Alex Crook said on Wednesday lunchtime.

“So at the moment, Ismaila Sarr is staying at Watford.”

The Watford winger was linked to the Reds as the Daily Mirror earlier reported that the Premier League champions are ready to match the Hornet’s £40m asking price of the player to make the deal happen.

The arrival of Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday has provided competition upfront and Klopp’s transfer business seems done.

The £80m employed on Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago and Jota give Liverpool much depth to compete in the league and cup competitions as they gear up towards conquering Europe once more.

The Reds will play Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup on Thursday and both Jota and Tsimikas are looking forward to making their debut.
