Kwaebibirem MCE, Police Land In Fresh Trouble!–As Kade Chief Drag Them To Attorney General;Threatens To Sue Them
MUNICIPAL Chief Executive for Kwaebibirem in the Eastern Region, Mr Seth Kwame Antwi Boasiako and Ghana Police Service in Kade have landed themselves into another fresh trouble for obstructing legally and traditionally installed Chief of Kade, Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II from fulfilling his constitutional rights and duties in his traditional area.

The continuous decision of the MCE and police at Kade to obstruct Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II from fulfilling his constitutional rights and duties in his own traditional jurisdiction, according to information available to Soireenews has compiled the chief to instruct his solicitors to write a letter to the Attorney General, to officially notice AG of his intention to sue the MCE and Ghana Police Service.

Information available to this news outlet indicates that the Paramount Chief of Kade Traditional Area is still remains the legitimate Chief of Kade in the Eastern Region.

All the historical documents and various court judgements and rulings in possession of this journalist have attested to the fact that indeed Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II is recognized as the only legally installed chief for Kade.

So what has happened Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II being an rightfully Ghanaian adult would be prevented from attending the inauguration of the District Assembly by the MCE.
The two-page letter which was written by the chief's lawyer, Nkrabeah Effah Dartey dated February 19, 2024 was copied to the Kwaebibirem MCE, Police Commander in Kade, Okyerehene in Kyebi, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Minister of Culture and  Chieftaincy Affairs, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Ghana, Eastern Regional Minister in Koforidua.

All these state personalities were equally served with the letter from the chief's lawyer to the Attorney General Department," the sources closed to Kade Paramountcy disclosed.
The  letter reads in party ;"We are a firm of Barrieters and solicitors based in Accra. We write to you on the instructions of our client, the chief of Kade, Osabarima Agyare Tinadu II.
On Monday February 12, 2024, the government of Ghana inaugurated over 250 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies nationwide, and the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly was set for 1pm at Kade.
Under the constitution and the Local Government Act, every district assembly is duly constituted with representatives of the traditional Area, and so in the Kade the Nana Kadehene, Osabarima Agyare Tinadu II and  his elders respecting the Kade Traditional Area arrived at the proposed venue for the inauguration of the District Assembly.
Without any information, the chief (Nananom) realized that to their shock that all those who had assembled for the inauguration had left the venue to somewhere else apparently to carry out the inauguration in the absence of the Kade Traditional Area.
When the Kadehene got the wind of what is going on, he and his elders drove in the convey of six cars to the new venue only to meet a very hostile blockade by the police that they will not be given admittance to the venue.
The scene that ensued was most embarrassing indeed. The chief of Kade ceremonially dressed with umbrella over him, together with sub chiefs and his elders, being refused admittance to the public event in his own fief, the inauguration of the Kade Municipal Assembly!.
We were told that the DCE has given instructions that the chief of Kade must not be allowed admission otherwise the Okyerehene will got him removed as the MCE for Kade.
There were so many onlookers, invited guests, police personnel-so humiliating and embarrassing was the spectacle that Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II decided to beat a retreat to the Palace.
The Okyerehene knows the above thoroughly very well and all is fine in Kade.
"Please take notice and notice is hereby given that we have instructions to sue the Attorney General, Kwaebibirem MCE, and Ghana Police Service for embarrassing, inconvenience and trauma caused to our Chief after the passage of 30 calendar days from the date of this letter," the letter concluded.
However the court rulings have justified the chieftaincy legitimacy of Osabarima Agyare Tinadu II, citing a ruling by the Kumasi High Court that had quashed the registration of Asare Twe and the gazetting, confirming Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II as the chief until a Supreme Court ruling.
