Kolege on the death of his pregnant wife

On November 17, 2022, popular Kumawood actor Okomfo Kolege had what he describes as the worst experience of his life.

The actor, who had gone to the hospital that day with his wife, hoped to receive the good news that their son had been born. But fate had disaster in store for them.

"I was waiting for my wife by myself in the parking lot. People who knew us or were close to us can tell how much I cared for her. So, telling me the news got really challenging," he stated on The Delay Show.

When questioned how he eventually learned of his wife's passing, Kolege revealed that a friend of theirs's doctor was called in to deliver the bad news.

He had previously been informed over the phone when he arrived. He drove there and said, "God will take care of it," as he looked at me. I replied that I knew He would accomplish it since he had arrived at last. Later, I noticed everyone leaving after he had gone inside. Then, as I had anticipated, he informed me that my wife had given birth to a healthy baby boy, and I immediately began to praise God.

The doctor wanted to speak with me first before departing to take care of other affairs, so I went to see my wife and child. He told me the news in his car, saying that sometimes a guy has to take a bitter pill. He claimed that my wife and child wouldn't survive when I asked him what the pregnancy of my wife had to do with a bitter medication. He recalled that "I couldn't believe or accept it," but "he was emphatic, just like that."

Kolege replied in the affirmative when asked if this was the worst news he had ever heard in his life, adding, "...and the most painful thing to happen in my life is losing my wife."
