Jurgen Klopp has assessed his team over the weekend and realized he needs a reinforcement following their shootout loss to Arsenal during the weekend in the FA Community Shield match.

Liverpool have been long linked with Watford’s Ismaila Sarr as the Daily Mirror reports that the Premier League champions are ready to match the Hornet’s £40m asking price of the player to make the deal happen.

Sarr joined the Premier League club, Watford, on a five-year contract last year from Rennes in a club-record fee reported as "in the region of £30 million.

The Reds front three seems exhausted since their Premier League title win earlier, with five games remaining. Losses against Man City and Arsenal were indications that the fresh legs are needed to compete for the upfront role.

Ismaila Sarr stole the show against Liverpool when the Hornets at the Vicarage Road ruined their unbeaten run. The Senegalese scored two goals in the Reds 3-1 defeat in February.

Following Liverpool’s loss to Arsenal over the weekend where none of the front three converted a chance, only to see Takumi Minamino come from the bench to level the scores after Aubameyang put the Gunners forward in the early stage of the first half means an addition is required.

Klopp’s decision to keep Rhian Brewster shows how much the manager requires intense competition upfront, with the teenager having scored three goals in the Reds two preseason games before the Community Shield penalty.
