Kenya's Omanyala wins Commonwealth men's 100m gold
The African champion and eighth-fastest man in history became the first Kenyan to win the Commonwealth Games gold medal.

At the Commonwealth Games, Kenya's Ferdinand Omanyala won the men's 100-meter race in 10.02.
Omanyala defeated South African Akani Simbine, the reigning champion, with ease. Yup Abeykoon, a sprinter from Sri Lanka, won bronze.
According to Omanyala, who is reported by the AFP news agency as stating, "I am over the moon, I thrive on the buzz of this sort of event,"
The African champion and eighth-fastest man in history became the first Kenyan to win the Commonwealth Games gold medal.
He stated: "Truly, nothing is impossible" on Twitter.
